Where to get national phlebotomy certification

Phlebotomists in the US can get certified by various organizations recognized nationwide. However, in the states that the certification is mandatory the regulation might impose to be certified only by the bodies recognized in that jurisdiction. California, for example, recognize certification from 6 institutions. It is always a good idea to check with your state’s demands when deciding to go with one or another accreditation agency. ADMISSIONS, REQUIREMENTS AND ENROLLMENT POLICIES

a) Minimum Age: 18 Years of age
– Prospective students of the Phlebotomy, Electrocardiogram, Clinical Medical Assistant and Dental Assistant Programs must not have been charged with and/or convicted of any felony offenses within the past seven (7) years. It is at the discretion of the School Director to allow the student access into the program.
– Prospective students of the Mental Health Program must not have any sexual offenses, drug offenses and/or felony offenses of any kind within the last 7 years.
– Prospective students of the Pharmacy Technician Program must not have any drug-related charges, felony charges, and/or convictions of any kind.
– Prospective students of the Dental Assistant Program are awarded a certificate of completion once they have met all requirements for the program. It is the TX Certifying Officials that determine if a student is eligible for licensure.
b) Certification Requirement before Registering: Students must also provide a current American Heart Association or American Red Cross, Heath Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification before registering. BLS Training and Certification is offered onsite.

IMMUNIZATIONS:
1) Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR)
2) TB skin test (PPD), within the last 12 months
3) Tetanus within the last 10 years
4) Hepatitis B, the series of (3)
5) Varicella(Chicken Pox) or verification of disease with Date

PREREQUISITES DUE AT REGISTRATION:
1) TWO Valid Identification cards (IDs) One MUST be a photo
2) High School Diploma, GED or College Transcript
3) Current Healthcare Provider BLS Certification
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS DONE AT REGISTRATION:

2) Criminal Background Check
